User guide

Short links on your own domain, in eight steps. Questions rather than steps? See the FAQ.

  1. 1

    Create an account

Sign up with an email address and a password. Forgot it? Reset by email.

  2. 2

    Create a link

On Dashboard → Links, paste the destination URL. Choose your own slug or accept a generated one — the short link becomes https://go.sitelinks.app/<slug>. Optionally give it a name and a private note.

  3. 3

    Set the guard rails

Each link can carry an expiry date, a click cap, a fallback URL to send people to once it expires or hits the cap, and a password a visitor must enter before being redirected. You can also disable a link without deleting it.

  4. 4

    Print the QR code

Every link has a QR code at /qr/<slug>. It encodes the short URL, never the destination — so you can change where a link points after the code is on a poster or business card, and the print keeps working.

  5. 5

    Change where a link points

Open the link on the dashboard and edit its destination, expiry, cap, fallback or password. The slug and the QR code stay the same.

  6. 6

    Read the analytics

Each link shows clicks over time, and a breakdown by device and country. There are no tracking pixels and no IP addresses are stored, so the numbers are counts, not people.

  7. 7

    Slots and billing

Every account starts with 1 free link slot; more are $5 each per year. Buy or drop slots on Dashboard → Billing; the payment provider prorates changes. Cancelling stops renewal; links keep working to the end of the paid period.

  8. 8

    Export or leave

Dashboard → Account exports your data and can delete your account. Deleting an account deletes its links — printed QR codes pointing at them stop working.

Before you print anything

Every link dies with its domain. If go.sitelinks.app ever lapses, every QR code printed against it breaks at once. sitelinks keeps its short domain on auto-renew; if you run your own, do the same.
